Dr James Galbraith

Dr James Galbraith (MBBS (Melb), FRANZCO, FRACS) is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with an interest in cataract surgery, anterior segment disease and general eye care. He has worked at Cabrini Hospital for over 20 years as well as consulting in the Vermont area.

After graduating from Melbourne University he undertook ophthalmic training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital where he served as Senior Registrar. He undertook further training in the United Kingdom including time as a consultant in the NHS.

James has been a long-term proponent of the public health system with an appointment at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, involved in the teaching of both ophthalmic trainees and medical students. He continues to lecture both city and rural-based doctors having previously been a visiting Ophthalmologist to Broken Hill Base Hospital.
