Upon her return from overseas training and working as an Ophthalmologist in the USA, Dr Lyndell Lim joined Eye Surgery Associates as an Associate in August 2006 to undertake private practice in the areas of Medical Retina and Ocular inflammatory diseases.

Dr Lim holds an appointment as a Mankiewicz-Zelkin-Crock Research Fellow at The Centre for Eye Research Australia, University of Melbourne and also is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Medical Retina and Ocular inflammatory diseases clinics at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr Lim held a position as Uveitis Fellow at The Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon, United States of America during the period August 2004 - July 2006. The Casey Eye Institute Uveitis Service is one of the largest in the world, with 3 full time faculty and 3 full day ocular inflammatory diseases clinics a week.

In the period 2003 to August 2004 Lyndell was a Medical Retina Fellow at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

The fellowship places an emphasis on the diagnosis and management of common and rare diagnoses, with a large exposure to particularly refractory cases of ocular inflammation. Practical experience in systemic immune suppression using standard therapies such as prednisolone, methotrexate, cyclosporin, azathioprin, mycophenolate mofetil and cyclophosphamide was gained, as well as experience in the use of newer biologic therapies including etanercept, infliximab, adalimumab and rituximab. Extensive lab based research is also obtained in one, or several, areas including confocal microscopy, intravital microscopy and genetics in uveitis.
