Dr Shaun Parsons is a skilled Ophthalmologist with a specialisation in Cataract surgery and subspecialisation in Oculoplastic Surgery (eyelid and lacrimal surgeon). He is dedicated to providing personalised and compassionate care to all his patients.
Dr Parsons graduated from medical school with honours and was recognised for his outstanding academic performance with several awards, including the Dux of the graduating year title. He also received prizes for Surgery and Public Health Medicine for attaining the highest grades in these domains. In addition, Dr Parsons was the recipient of the Handbury Scholarship for his exceptional achievements throughout his medical degree.
He completed his RANZCO ophthalmology training through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH), and later pursued further sub-speciality training in Oculoplastic Surgery through the prestigious fellowship under Professor Timothy Sullivan at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr Parsons has advanced training in all conditions affecting the eyelid, lacrimal system and anterior orbit including aesthetic blepharoplasty.
Dr Parsons is committed to improving the eye health of regional Victorians and currently holds a public hospital appointment at the Ballarat Base Hospital. He strongly believes in a patient-centred approach and offers individualised care to improve the vision, aesthetics, and function of the visual system.
