Dr Jacqueline Beltz is a Specialist Ophthalmologist providing cataract, refractive and corneal services with particular emphasis on achieving excellent results with reduced dependency on spectacles after cataract surgery.
As Co-President of The Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Jacqueline is well known internationally as a leader in her field. She is immediate past President of the Australian and New Zealand Cornea Society and, utilising her Masters of Surgical Education was Director of Training for Ophthalmology in Victoria from 2016 – 2021. She remains Director of GENEYE – a surgical education program for trainees and other ophthalmologists.
Dr Beltz completed her Medical degree at University of Tasmania and ophthalmology specialty training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne. Following specialty training, Dr Beltz completed two years of advanced fellowship training in corneal transplantation, which included a year in Italy specialising in modern and innovative techniques. She is the author of one book, several text book chapters and multiple scientific papers as well as host of a surgical education podcast. Dr Beltz frequently delivers lectures and education events both locally and overseas.
Dr Beltz is Staff Specialist on the Corneal and Cataract Units at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and holds a Senior Lecturer position at the Centre for Eye Research Australia.
