Dr Doreen Ho is a highly trained ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in Inflammatory Eye Diseases (Uveitis) and Medical Retina, dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-centred care.

Dr Ho began her career as an optometrist, completing her Optometry Degree with First Class Honours at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). She then obtained her Medical Degree with Honours from Deakin University before undertaking specialist ophthalmology training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH).

Following this, Dr Ho completed advanced fellowship training in Medical Retina at RVEEH, and a prestigious Uveitis Fellowship at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. There, she trained under the mentorship of Professor Carlos Pavesio and collaborated with internationally recognised experts, contributing to multiple publications. Through these fellowships, Dr Ho gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of retinal and inflammatory eye conditions, as well as in intravitreal injections, retinal laser treatments, and complex cataract surgery.

Upon returning to Melbourne, Dr Ho was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, where she is deeply committed to public healthcare, teaching ophthalmology trainees, and contributing to clinical research to improve patient outcomes. She regularly presents at national and international conferences, sharing insights into innovative treatment approaches and emerging advancements in ophthalmology.

Outside of her professional work, Dr Ho enjoys spending quality time with her young family and two dogs.
