We collaborate directly with the University of Melbourne and Deakin University to facilitate clinical placements for students in their final-year of optometry across our four locations. Our clinics accommodate between 100-200 students annually.
During their placement, students gain practical exposure to:
The end-to-end consultation process
Conducting diagnostic tests
Managing patient flow within a clinical setting
Recognising eye conditions that require specialist referral
Understanding ophthalmic treatments and surgical options
Navigating the pathway from optometrist to ophthalmologist
