Dr Ming-Lee Lin

Dr Ming-Lee Lin is a Specialist Ophthalmologist and Associate at Eye Surgery Associates.  Dr Lin’s areas of expertise and special interest include cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and inflammatory eye diseases.  Dr Ming-Lee is passionate about providing patient-centred health care and is dedicated to helping her patients make informed decisions about their treatment.

Dr Lin obtained her medical degree with Honours from Monash University and received a Sir John Monash Scholarship for academic excellence. During her post-graduate years, she was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarship and holds a PhD from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for her research work in the immune system.  She completed her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.  Following this, Dr Lin pursued additional experience as the Cataract Fellow at Monash Health and subsequently, undertook further subspecialty training in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital London.

Upon her return to Melbourne, Dr Lin was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at The Alfred Hospital Melbourne and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Medical Retina Service and Uveitis Service. Here, she participates in clinical research and has a substantial commitment to public health care provision.  As Director of Clinical Training at the Alfred Hospital, Dr Lin maintains a keen interest in the supervision and teaching of ophthalmologists in training.  She is a member of the Australia New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
